Wow or Only?

Hmmm, 25 days - feels like Wow, I've been quit forever!  Then I think, has it really been Only 25 days? I have to remind myself that yes, I'm still a newbie and these obsessive thoughts I have daily will lessen - just have to give it some more time, after all, I smoked for 55 years!  Ooh I just love that past-tense in there. For me, the easy part so far is not lighting up and feeling that smoke and choke but the tough part is the mental stuff, the physical tugging sensation of changes going on and oh the insomnia. Big sigh, it's all worth it! Pamela

About the Author
I am a transplant from England and came to California in 1973; became a citizen in 1985. I have promised myself I would be a happy non-smoker by my 70th birthday or sooner - April is getting close! I started smoking at age 15 and like many others have tried to stop several times. This time I have a very different attitude and I am looking at this as a positive move to regaining my freedom as opposed to losing something by giving it up.
