Two weeks & 23 hours

I can officially call myself an ex-smoker! One hour from this very minute will mark 3 weeks since I put the sickarettes down for good. On day 6, my husband bought me a brand-new FitBit to upgrade the one I had had for almost 6 years. It's not that it quit or working or anything (shamless plug for the Ultra here, but it really was the best little thing!) but I wanted a newer one that does the newfangled things. So far, it's working out great!

So here I am, approaching day 21. I still eat stupidly, but that's starting to straighten itself up and I can count on one hand how many times in a day I actually get a craving for a smoke now. A few days ago, my husband came home from work, handed me his phone and said, "Honey, I want you to take a look at this van." Uhmm... k?

Turns out my man had already made an appointment for us to go test drive it. I get to pick it up tomorrow. It's my reward for going 3 weeks!! When I guffawed and told my husband I didn't need another gift, his response was, "You deserve everything for quitting smoking. I never thought you would. The FitBit isn't enough. Hell, the new van isn't enough. But I want you to know how proud I am of you."

And it just so happened that yesterday was our 16th anniversary, so it's my gift for that, too! He can be a bit of an arse, sometimes, but man.. I got really lucky the day I met him.

Here is a picture of my new wheels!

My name is Jessica & I am a born & bred Hoosier. My only bad habit in life is smoking and I've done so for 22 years. My doctors tell me I must quit, and I've had unsuccessful attempts in the past. Too many.
