Smoke free for 35 hours

Mood: Content

Cravings: Manageable

Medication Assistance: Wellbutrin 100mg 2x daily

Last night's sleep: Crap. Crashed early (8:00pm). Was awake every 90 minutes for one reason or another. Weird dreams, including defending a guy I went to high school with that I've not thought of in years.

Today's concerns: Driving. Vicky has a doctor appointment at 10:15am, then we need to go get her medications in her hometown. It's going to be a real test for us both. Me, knowing she has cigarettes in her pocket and will smoke at every opportunity. Her, respecting my wishes to not smoke in my van. Us: Not killing each other.

Plan of action

  • Pack morning snack & lunch (stay on weight loss program!!)
  • Toss more breath mints into purse; don't forget the suckers and butterscotch drops!
  • It's going to be 70F degrees today! Roll down the van windows and enjoy the fresh air. (Maybe it won't be so bad if Vicky chooses to smoke around me.)
  • Fill water jug
  • Frequent stretch breaks & deep breathing exercises as needed

I have made it this far. I feel confident, upbeat, and happy with the choice I have made. Remember what Mom & Dad always said:

Mom: Keep putting one foot in front of the other, kid, and promise me you will never quit.

Dad:  Walk with your head held high, PeePot. Whether you have the confidence or not, others will think you do. Chin up, buttercup.

My name is Jessica & I am a born & bred Hoosier. My only bad habit in life is smoking and I've done so for 22 years. My doctors tell me I must quit, and I've had unsuccessful attempts in the past. Too many.
