It was a PERFECT day for the Jersey Girl Triathlon! I must admit, I had a little panic in the water. I got slowed down a bit there, but I made up for it on the bike and run, coming in 18th in my age group!

If I train through the fall/winter indoors, I should be to able to improve my swim for next year. That swim was only 300 yds but it felt like I always had so far left to go. I stopped at the last buoy to regroup, reminded myself that I was racing for Youngatheart.7.4.12 Blog and that I am not a quitter! (Well, I AM but I'm also NOT!)

Hitting that beach was the most amazing feeling after that terrible swim! After that, NOT ONE person passed me on the bike and not many passed me on the run!!

I am going to keep this quit.

I am a mom, a teacher AND a fitness instructor. It blows my mind that I used to smoke. It made me feel like a total and complete phony. I run and bike frequently. I am working on my swim. My speed and endurance are improving, but more importantly, I now feel truly connected to the world I'm part of and no longer pushing away.
