Rough, a lot rougher then my quit over a year ago. Then I wanted to quit, I was ready to quit and this time I knew I had to quit, but really did not want to quit. So prepping yourself mentally, reading, having the quit kit ready and having plans to help get you through potential rough patches does help, or at least it did help me a lot last year. I waited until day 3 or 4 to get serious with my reading again-reread Allan Carrs book. The last couple of days were much easier mentally with my quit vs the first couple of days. I do have my plans to overcome craves or old habits that bring on the desire to smoke at hand and those have been happening less and less.

I started to read through my old blogs, that was just dumb, too soon for that emotional punch since a lot of my initial quit was also trying to get my husband to quit. So I stopped, called my new guy who has been my biggest cheerleader with this quit and just an over all awesome guy as I go through the grieving process as well. We are doing the long distance thing since he lives 3 hours away, but we talk/text constantly and he suggested I continue to go through my old blogs, but only one or two at a time. Also,  he has asked me to read my blog posts to him and he is helping me find the things that worked during that quit so I can use them now. (Did I mention awesome guy? )

Moving on to week two and feeling strong and confident.

Hold tight to your quits

I quit smoking Oct 31st 2017. It was hard, I had rough moments, but even with my husband and roommate smoking I kept from smoking since I decided to do it for me. Aug 7th 2018 my husband quit smoking. September 18 my world was turned upside down as my husband died in front of me. February 19, 2019 I quit..it took a few tries after my husband passed, but I am no longer a smoker.
