Birthday, Teeth and Castles

Thank you for the birthday wishes yesterday. I had a good day overall. Ended up with a migraine. Went to the orthodontist for an adjustment. They gave me gift card to the local froyo place. Can't wait to use it! Hurricane Michael plowed through here with wind and rain, much worse than Hurricane Flo IMHO. The drop in the barometric pressure mostly always sets off a migraine for me. Can't be helped. I just chillaxed the rest of the day, we grilled hot dogs and I enjoyed the chocolate cheesecake sampler, cheddar jalapeno cheetos and flowers my husband got me.  I wanted a turtle cheesecake but he couldn't find an actual whole turtle cheesecake. The sampler was nice and even had a slice of turtle cheesecake in it. That'll do.

I did a little  shopping for myself at Ulta. Love me some Ulta. I am not a prissy get all fixed up and paint your eyebrows on kind of girl. I have unruly frizzy, curly hair so I am a hair product junky always looking for the perfect combo for my hair. I also like nice makeup when I wear it as the cheapie stuff tends to break me out.  So I grabbed me a few things using the $10 off Ulta sent me for my birthday and also it is 2X points for my birthday month.

Went through all my HR paperwork to make sure it was all filled out. I am ready to go on Monday. The straggling pieces of my beginning uniform arrive today (pants and belt, my old belt looked like a dog had eaten it, it was so old and I only have blue pants not black ones). I will be good to go. Hopefully my real uniforms will be in soon. But I did buy the brand of pants that I love so I know that whatever they order, I will have a fav pair of pants. Hard to believe on Monday I start the new job. So excited. Two more days at the ER. I received approval yesterday to stay on there PRN so I can pick and chose the hours I want to work and it makes it easier to quit if it gets to be too much.  And who doesn't love extra money a month???

Since we have been out and about the countryside of Scotland, today I thought we would see some castles. There are about a ba-gillion castles in Scotland. I have visited maybe a dozen of them. I am sure it would take years and years to see them all. And BTW, Hogwart's School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is located in Scotland. And also everything in Scotland is uphill, both ways.

Eilean Donan Castle- This is one of the most photographed castles in Scotland.

Doune Castle- Made famous by Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Outlander as Castle Leoch. Also GOT fans this castle appeared in the pilot episode as Winterfell

Brodie Castle- Known for its daffodils! This was an unplanned stop for me as I had finished early at Culloden and seen this advert poster for this castle. It was a welcome treat. The guided tour was fabulous and I even remember the guide's name-Tony.

And one last one, Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness. It was a rainy, very windy day when I visited. Nessie was a no show, as her usual, every time I am at Loch Ness.

Tomorrow starts my whirlwind days of working 7 in a row so I probably won't be on much next week. I will try and stop by and update everyone on how things are going at the new job. I plan to dig through some more pictures to post when I can especially my drive through the Caringorms. It was absolutely breathtaking.

Everyone have a great smoke-free weekend!

Susan
