The most asked question here I think.  Here's my response from a similar post a few months ago:

How interesting.  I was just having coffee with a friend and I mentioned that I thought my original question on this site, "When do the cravings go away?" was the most asked question I've seen in the year I've been here.  I got really mad at the initial responses from people trying to assure me that what I was feeling was normal, that the craves do eventually ease some, welcoming me to this website, etc.  Everyone was trying to be so nice, but no one was answering the question.  I began to suspect the answer was that the cravings never go away, and nobody wanted to admit that to me!  So I'll answer your question more directly.  My craves practically disappeared after 3 weeks.  Then, for about 2 weeks, they came roaring back as bad or worse than before!  After that, they were much more intermittent and the time between kept growing and growing.  And, as you will read here, some people continue to get the occasional strong craves well past the 100 day mark.  Sounds awful huh?  Except that the craves don't last 24/7.  And the times in between are so great and liberating!  I hated my craves with a passion, but it was soooo worth what I have now!  I'm so sorry that you are feeling bad right now.  It really, really does get better .

Thx for being honest! I appreciate it! I have COPD and was in the hospital last month for 3 days bc of smoking! That’s why I ended up quitting. I really didn’t have a quit day, I just couldn’t smoke bc I couldn’t breathe! I believe the 7th of August was when I smoked my last cigarette and then on the 10th I was rushed to the hospital where they kept me. I was in respiratory distress and my blood pressure was 218! Yeah talk about scary! So long story short, I went to my follow up appointment a week after being in the hospital and I had received my spirometry test results that day! Said my lung age was 95!!        So with that said, I vowed never to smoke another cigarette again and I haven’t! I know I won’t bc I know me! But these cravings get so bad at times that my mind tells me, “eff it! Just one!” Nope      I know that will lead back to the pack-a-day habit I had over 50 days ago and it’s not worth it! I just need some support every now and again. Good kick in the rear! Lol

Yes SAUC373 yes our emojis are a little behind the times and I agree with TW517 . The light is always on here every crave deserves a visit to EX if it gets too much for you to handle on your own. Visit EX, Don't Smoke!!!

A piece I wrote a while back on that subject -  may help.  Expectations, Timelines and the Reality YOU Creat...
And just an FYI - because of the way this platform is set up, Status Updates aren't as easily seen as blogs or Discussions.  More members will see your material if you put it up as a blog or a discussion (and you'll get a lot of responses).  If you need help with that, give a holler.

You're doing GREAT!  Stay the course and keep your chin up!

PS - Thomas3.20.2010  is our go-to for info on COPD.  You might go to his page and peruse his blogs.
