On October 2nd I celebrated one year without cigs...and yesterday had my low grade CT scan that said no lung cancer...thank you baby Jesus. For those of you just starting your journey stay close to this site, not sure I could’ve done it without the support of those here. Know the cravings get fewer and farther between, and you learn to ride the wave and move on. I still get cravings now and then but I just say NOPE (not one puff ever) and move on. Blessings to all and you got this, your body will thank you

Started smoking to be cool and that was was 46 years ago with a break for boot camp and two pregnancies. Figured one cigarette with a cocktail wouldn’t hurt and now I’m diagnosed with emphysema, huh that didn’t work out as planned...you would think working in a hospital and watching your mother die of lung cancer would motivate me but apparently I’m a slow learner. Scared to quit but I know my life depends on it.
