Day 1 is over. Yay!!! I have been reading/looking at that Alan Carr’s “easy way to quit smoking” and I must admit I’m surprised how changing your thoughts of being deprived of smoking to being happy it’s over is helps...Don’t get me wrong, I had a few rough spells yesterday but just kept saying “I’m so glad I don’t smoke” over and over and chewed on a straw till the poor thing was an accordian but I did it...I DID IT!!!! Now on my way through today, not sure why I’m counting because I am now a non smoker but I need support and guidance through this new life style...43 years of that nasty thing was enough...God Bless and prayers for all of our new lives

Started smoking to be cool and that was was 46 years ago with a break for boot camp and two pregnancies. Figured one cigarette with a cocktail wouldn’t hurt and now I’m diagnosed with emphysema, huh that didn’t work out as planned...you would think working in a hospital and watching your mother die of lung cancer would motivate me but apparently I’m a slow learner. Scared to quit but I know my life depends on it.
