I was in the ER last night for leg pain, swelling, and hotness.
I tried this before I went though ....
It didn't work as you can well imagine.
(Sorry, I had to inject some humor in all this.)
The vampires had a field day as usual and they wanted another Picasso masterpiece from my EKG tracing.
I was sent down for an ultrasound on my right leg.
I was thinking blood clot when my leg first started being painful and swelling.
They found the clot in a superficial vein. It was the saphenous vein that is involved.
I was told it was 17 cm long and covered half the length of my thigh.
I was given an injection to begin treating it and a prescription for anticoagulant.
I must also move up to thigh-high compression.
Heat compresses to the site for now.
Smoking never entered the picture.
That would only complicate the issue and I sure don't need that as you well know.
No matter the problem, smoking is not the answer.
It solves nothing as the problem is still there to be dealt with.
Be well my friends.
One step, and then another, will get you to where you want to be.
