Riding Along

It has been an uneventful trip so far.

We have restocked several supply caches at the oasis. I found out that the amount of supplies I wanted to leave was more than the caches would hold, so we had to build more of them to hold it all.

I also made sure that there was plenty of cured grasses for the camels left at each one also. Well fed camels are less trouble and stronger for the journey.

So far, I have seen no evidence of Nic and his buddies. This only makes me keep a sharper lookout for them.

The travelers I have met tell me that they have run into some traps that were more harassment than harm. I am looking for these so they can be disarmed and destroyed.

The Bedoins have been rotating their camels with ones from the herd being taken over to the trailhead. They are young and need to be ridden to accustom them to carrying people and supplies. They should be ready by the time we reach the trailhead.

It warm this old caravan master's heart to see so many people traveling the trail. I try to encourage each one I meet.

I must continue my journey to restock the supplies now.

Remember to keep a sharp eye for Nic and his crew.

Travel safely and beware traps and pitfalls.

One step, and then another, will get you to where you want to be.
