My Wife's Isolation Diary

Mike.n.Atlanta
8 10 115

Day 1 I can do this!  Got enough food and wine to last a month.

Day 2  Opening my 8th bottle of wine.  I fear wine supplies may not last.

Day 3   Strawberries have at least 210 seeds.  Some have as many as 235.  Who knew?

Day 4  8:00 pm.  Changing from my day  time pajamas to my night time pajamas.

Day 5   Today I tried to make hand sanitizer It turned out to be Jello Shots.

Day 6  I get to take the garbage out today I'm so excited I can't decide what to wear.

Day 7  Laughing way too much at my own jokes.

Day 8  Went to a new restaurant today called The Kitchen.  You have to gather all your own ingredients and then make what you decided you want.  Have no clue how this place stays in business.

Day 9  I put a liquor bottle in every room. Tonight I'm getting all dressed up and going bar hopping.

Day 10  Struck up a conversation with a spider today.  Seemed nice. Said he had just moved in and that he is a web designer

Day 11 Isolation is hard.  I swear my fridge said "What the hell do you want now?"

Day 12  I now understand why dogs get so excited about something moving  outside, going for a walk or a car ride. I may have just barked at a squirrel.

Day 13  if you keep a drink in each hand, you can't touch your face. Just an observation.

Day 14  Watched the birds fight over a worm.  Cardinals lead the Blue Jay's 3 to1.

Day 15  Anyone else feel like they've cooked dinner about 395 times this month?

Day 16  Spent the day making and distributing  masks that last week we were told wouldn't work.

Day 17  Found an old hula hoop in the garage and guess what? It's a perfect fit!

I began this quit journey on October 1, 2004. I'm not doing it for my wife or children nor in memory of the many family members or friends I have lost due to this addiction. I'm doing it for Mike. "The only real threat to your quit is between your ears" ~ Me "A smooth sea never made a skillful sailor" ~ English proverb "A gem cannot be polished without friction, nor man perfected without trial" ~ Chinese proverb I'd rather be a non-smoker who thinks about smoking once in awhile, than a smoker who's always thinking about quitting" ~ Anonymous ~
