I never know who's hand I will be grabbing, but that doesn't matter. Here at eX I am more than happy to hold the hand of everyone who is on the road to freedom with me. As a matter of fact it is the daily pledge that keeps me moving forward. I remember being on this site a year ago. My quit was not successful. It lasted 19 days. I remember the days leading up to smoking again. I did not want to visit the daily pledge page. If I did I knew I would be lying to myself. By not taking the pledge meant that I was giving myself permission to smoke. Now going onto 67 days I am understanding more about my own accountability as well as commitment. Mornings are getting a little easier for me, but I know deep down inside that I need to take the morning pledge. To me it means having the hand of another person to receive support while also extending my hand to give support. It means re-connecting with friends and meeting new ones. It means determination, dedication, education, accountability, responsibility, and trust. I have been blessed to have received invaluable information to help me on my journey. To me, the daily pledge means taking it one day at a time to get to where I want to be. Thank you eX and all of your hands.
