This is Jonesport, Maine.  Lobstermen live and work here.  It's also home to one of the winningest high school basketball programs for small schools in the State.

It is important that we look for beauty. There are beautiful things in the world each and every day, if we only know how to see.

In recovery, in serenity, beauty is everywhere—even in pain and suffering—if we only know how to see.

How good am I at seeing all the beauty there is to see?

From the book: Day by Day, Meditations for Recovering...

“I believe that imagination is stronger than knowledge. That myth is more potent than history. That dreams are more powerful than facts. That hope always triumphs over experience. That laughter is the only cure for grief. And I believe that love is stronger than death.”
Robert Fulghum, All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten: Uncommon Thoughts On Common Things

I quit on October 25, 2013, it was the best decision I ever made (or, one of them). I smoked for over 50 years and quit Cold Turkey. My most useful tool is gratitude, you can borrow some from me.
