I was in that airplane when it was catapulted from the USS Hornet in August of 1965, it was my second time for that experience, also one arrested landing on the same ship.  It's quite a ride!  It was part of my job that day.  Later on I was on a flight crew but in much larger aircraft.  A "memory" for Memorial Day, some men never made it home from that deployment, this was when we had just started our deployment, and I was going to Japan a day earlier than the ship to chase some parts we needed.

Let's take a ride on a train called hope,

As passengers get on they yell NOPE

And there's more things to get at,

And for that there's always ODAAT,

And we have JFT and NEEGU  too,

If you want to jump on, we'll go,

The password is always HECK NO!

I quit on October 25, 2013, it was the best decision I ever made (or, one of them). I smoked for over 50 years and quit Cold Turkey. My most useful tool is gratitude, you can borrow some from me.
