Good for you...that's how it's done...one day at a time. Day one has been WON. Keep it up, stay close to the site...it really DOES help. I did not use any nicotine replacement but I have nothing against it. I just got so seriously ill that I had to quit after smoking for 47 years. I have been free for over 5 1/2 now and I never regret quitting...I just regret that I did not do it earlier.
Welcome to EX...it's really not a battle, it helps to see it as a journey. I used the mantra NOPE to get through my quit, Not One Puff Ever. I read blogs and everything I could find about nicotine addiction and I came to this site every morning and every evening, I read, I commented, I got to know people and they helped me more than I can say. I committed to my quit...I decided not to smoke...no matter what. I came to the conclusion that smoking never did anything FOR me, just TO me and as a person with COPD, I am reminded every single day of how hard it is to breathe because I smoked for so long. Stay with us, we all want you to succeed and by reaching out to others, you will find that your own quit grows stronger.
