Which are the other ones that are safe and have the least pop-ups? I remember that there were several. Are they still OK?
Thanks!
Use a popup blocker and if you see a popup, close it out before it loads. If you can see it show up in your taskbar, you can close it out there without ever opening it. Just click on the x in the top right corner of the tiny browser windows in the taskbar like you'd normally close a window. If your pc gets locked by a popup, hit control-alt-delete and choose end task for your browser. If it still won't unlock you need to get a usb stick and go to another computer or to a friends computer and do a google search for a fix for the virus that looks like what was on your screen. There's usually a fix you can download to the USB stick that you can then load into your infected computer in safe mode. Make notes on how to do that on the functioning computer. Some are the F-8 key before it boots to windows and some use the F-13 key. Find out which yours uses on the working computer. You need to get into the bios and then safe mode to instruct you to boot to the USB. Study the process on the other uninfected computer before you freak out and you can fix this yourself and save a ton of money and not be without your computer for a week. (or pay your IP guy to do it.)
I suggest using a vpn for privacy also.
Thanks, Dale.
