My 58th!

Well today I celebrated my 58th birthday - only my 3rd consecutive birthday that I have celebrated smoke-free since I turned 15.  That is a bunch of smoke-filled birthday celebrations - ones in bars where I not only inhaled my own cigarette smoke but lots of second hand smoke too.  And many birthday dinners rushed through so I could get my nicotine fix. But none of that today - really rather low key - and that is OK.  I worked - and we had birthday pie this afternoon.  My boss is taking us to lunch on Thursday to celebrate.  I am happy.  I am content.  I am free of the addiction to nicotine!  And that makes this birthday special!

I am a 63 year old single woman. I quit smoking at 55 and my only regret is that I did not quit sooner. Freedom from cigarettes is truly a wonderful feeling!
