I had no idea where the Spirit would lead today for my morning devotional blog. So many things came into my heart and mind as I read, studied and pondered. As I studied and reminded of my imperfections. (e.i. Forgive me if I have hurt someone along the way.) In my moment of indecision, God allowed someone who is very dear to me in Christ to call. It was a very rare call for the time of day and how the call came through. It only lasted a few minutes and was cut off. But those moments of conversation helped me to continue in the direction I am to go no matter the trials or persecution and without a doubt. Please be mindful these are lessons for me as well.
Colossians 3:2 NIV
2 Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.
If you were to ask the goals of the average, everyday individual, most of them would answer with something temporal—save a “nest egg” for retirement, get a better job, build a “dream home,” buy a new car, find a life mate…When was the last time that you heard anyone (Christians of course) communicate spiritual goals in everyday conversation—get closer to God, win more souls to the kingdom, give more to support ministry…As Christians, we must remember to prioritize God’s Kingdom above and before anything else (Matthew 6:33). But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well
Remember the following as it relates to worldly goals:
ONLY WHAT YOU DO FOR CHRIST WILL LAST!
