I grew up in Queens, NY and lived in the Adirondacks from 1990-2019 when I had to leave my home & move to L.I. to care 24/7 for my elderly mother. I miss the forests and mountains and am not happy here w/ no help and only 5 hrs. off a week.
I've had depression for over 20 yrs. It affected my ability to keep jobs. Really the only times I am at peace are when I am hiking, climbing mountains, snowshoeing, kayaking or just wandering in the woods observing Nature.
I have 2 adult children who I rarely see as they don't live close by but we talk on the phone. I have no friends here. I am grateful for my sweet little dingo Lily... she is my only friend.
