At the Doctor's Office

I just got back from the doctor's office, and as the nurse was updating my charts she asked, "Are you still smoking?"  It felt great to say, "No, I quit 7 weeks ago today, on September 12th."  After congratulating me, she said, "You'll always remember that date," and then told me she quit xx/xx/2002, and told me a bit of her quit story.  The doctor was happy (and surprised) that I actually followed through this time.  He said, "I'm your biggest cheerleader."  Pushing on at 7 weeks!

I was a closet smoker from the time I first tried a cigarette at fourteen years old. It was going to be a one-time experiment when I was by myself, just to see what it like, but it didn't work out that way. Forty-seven years later, after countless attempts to quit smoking, I finally was able to quit smoking on 9/12/18! I couldn't have done it without this site and the wonderful people who are here.
