Super Sunday Promise

Blog Post created by AnnetteMM on Feb 7, 2021

Back in the summer of 2020 I made a vow:  I would not watch football while over 1,000 people a day were dying of Covid 19. I made this vow to myself alone. I only told people who wanted to talk about this season. After all, my home team, the Buffalo Bills, went on to have one of their best years since they lost the Superbowl 4 times!  But a promise is a promise.  So today, Superbowl Sunday, I'm keeping my vow to myself. It changes absolutely nothing in the world. But it means the world to me.

The other vow I've kept to myself is to Never Ever Forget to have Not One Puff Ever and to keep my quit as precious as anything else in my life.  You think you can't keep a promise to yourself?  We can keep those cigarettes and vapes away from our faces.  We can absolutely promise to never put nicotine into our bodies ever again.

Man, the temptation was really great when the Bills went on to the playoffs! But what good is a promise, even to myself, if it's so easily broken? What kind of person would I be (in my own heart of hearts) if I knew that my vows meant nothing?

On this Super Sunday, re-affirm that vow to yourself. You can have your snacks. You can cheer on your team. Just stay safe, and stay quit, and mount up those Days of Freedom for yourself!

As for me, I'm watching the Puppy Bowl LOL!
