Don't fight cravings. If you fight, you'll lose. Fighting turns you into a victim, and eventually you get sick and tired of that. It's exhausting.  When you're exhausted, you give in. Quit lost.

Instead, imagine the whole process.

Get comfortable. Close your eyes. In your mind, put your shoes on, grab your keys, and go. Walk into the store, lean on the counter, and order your favorite pack of cigarettes or vaping thingie. Pay for it. Go outside, unwrap it, and throw out the packaging. Shake out a cigarette or assemble the e-cig.

Ready? SUCK IN. How did that feel? In your imagination, feel the smoke or vapor hit your throat like a ton of bricks. Feel your chest expand, blow it all out. Do it again. Do it again. Do it again. DO IT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

Still want it?

I became nicotine-free on Christmas Day 2017. That's what I use as my quit date. I had smoked cigarettes for 45 years, then vaped Juuls for a few months before quitting cold turkey when I used up my supply of pods. I am a retired widow, living in Upstate NY.
