Quit Day 6

Slept soundly - FINALLY!  Nicotine usually wakes me up early for the first smoke.  Didn’t happen today.  Woke this morning rather peacefully then got the craving jitters.  What I did instead of smoke:  made more tea, went to yoga class, prepared a slow cooker meal for dinner tonight, write this blog.  Next up - painting.  Have to stay busy to keep my monkey mind from taking over and derailing me.  Still thinking about smoking and getting the cravings cause I’m still on lozenges but am cutting down every day.  Nicotine is a nasty and pervasive drug.  Should be illegal.

About the Author
I am a 55 year old health care professional and have considered myself a non smoker my entire adult life. I was a runner (and smoked), yogi, walker, exerciser, clean food advocate, etc. But smoked secretly anyway. It is the nicotine I’m addicted to, not the habit. Quitting nicotine makes me feel so uncomfortable and disoriented. Have used patches and lozenges. Patches kept me awake at night so became addicted to lozenges years ago when quitting. Am now back in the same predicament. Quit again today and am back on lozenges.
