WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT ANYWAY???

THIS GROUP REGARDING SUPPORT FOR THOSE OF US WHO HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH SUC DISORDERS AS BI/POLAR DISORDER, ADD, ADHD, UNI-POLAR DEPRESSION, ANXIETY DISORDERS IS INTENDED TO SUPPORT THOSE OF US IN THE EX-COMMUNITY WHO HAVE EITHER BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH AN EMOTIONAL DISORDER OR WHOSE LIVES ARE PROFOUNDLY AFFECTED BY THOSE WHO HAVE.

THIS IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL GROUP AND THEREFORE WE DON'T DISPENSE ANY MEDICAL ADVICE!!!

IT IS UNFORTUNATE; BUT, THERE ARE MANY IN TH EX-COMMUNITY WHO DO NOT HAVE ANY EMOTIONAL DISORDER; BUT, ARE PROFOUNDLY AFFECTED IN A NEGATIVE SENSE BY THOSE WHO DO.  THEN THERE THOSE LIKE ME WHO DO HAVE BI/POLAR DISORDER, ADHD AND DIABETES!

THAT'S CORRECT, DIABETES, A DISEASE WHICH OFTEN PRODUCES VOLITILE MOOD SWINGS.

NOW, FOR A PERSON LIKE ME WHO HAS ALL OF THE ABOVE ONGOING AS A REGULAR PART OF MY DAY IN/DAY OUT EMOTIONAL LIFE AND WHO NOW IS QUITTING SMOKING AT MIDNIGHT TONIGHT, 31 DEC., 2013, I AM ONE SCARED PUPPY AND AM COUNTING HEAVILY ON MEMBERS OF THIS GROUP TO HELP ME KEEP MY POOP TOGETHER!!

WILL PLEASE JOIN THE 4 OF US WHO ARE CURRENTLY GROUP MEMBERS.  I HAVE BEEN WARNED THAT PEOPLE DON'T JOIN THE GROUPS ANYMORE; BUT, I BELIEVE THAT A GROUP THAT OFFERS RELEVANT HELP AND SUPPORT TO ITS MEMBERS AND DEVELOPS A BROAD AND DEEP MEMBERSHIP BASE WILL NOT ONLY SURVIVE; BUT, IT WILL THRIVE!!!

EVERYONES INPUT IS WELCOME, BE IT THROUGH POSTING YOUR OWN BLOG HERE AS A MEMBER OF THE GROUP OR IN JOINING IN GROUP DISCUSSION!  AS FAR AS I KNOW ANY GROUP MEMBER CAN POST A TOPIC FOR GROUP DISCUSSION!!

I AM LISTED AS THE GROUP OWNER AND THAT IS SIMPLY NOT THE FACT.  AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED AS SOON AS YOU JOIN THE GROUP YOU BECOME AN EQUAL OWNER!

PLEASE RESPOND AS SOON AS YOU CAN AND MORE IMPPORTANTLY JOIN TODAY, LIKE RIGHT NOW!!!  IF YOU EXPERIENCE ANY DIFFICULTY HIT ME UP WITH A MESSAGE AT bigbear1

I am, totally surprised this group didn't go anywhere? I would love a support group that talks about neuropathy, PTSD, Depression, Bipolar-Depression, and the quit; as a support unit here on this site. A small unite or family that we can call home where we get to know everyone and everyone knows the triggers of the others and everyone checks in with each other each and every day. Sure I see a mental health specialist once a month and the mental health Dr every 3 months so how is that helping people like me to cope on a daily basis. I blog I visit the boards It's about having people that know you to help hold you accountable when you are weak. This is what I am looking for in a group and want in a group.

Where is this group and how do you join? The only group I found was started in 2008 with the last discussion being in 20010. I am interested in it because when you have a disorder that causes you not to have a will to live or that brings you to such depths of dispair that you are suicidal or don't care if you live or die, I believe this is an EXtra burden to those who don't want to relapse.

For right now we can be each other's quit buddy here and we can talk about anything you would like and maybe if we state a new feed other's will join in because I think bonding is the one key to success. I did not realize this was a dead feed until after I posted, however, I am glad you to posted here. When you are dealing with mental health issues and doing the quit of NicDemon; it is interesting to know what goes through our minds at times when we think no one cares or is listening.

constanceclum‌   If you want to join the group, simply go to the group  ‌Mental Health Support and  click on the "Follow" button.  The way groups become "active" is for members to engage with each other there.  You, Connie and   coreinstincts have both started the ball rolling with your posts on Big Bear's discussion.  Just start a discussion of your own and see if you can get others to join in.  Some info on groups that may be of help:  https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/docs/DOC-1070-how-to-find-a-group-that-s-right-for-you

Thank you, Giulia for the info. Maybe we can bring this one to life? Who knows?

So I got my letter for my Psychiatric Service Dog Wednesday and have been looking for this chat since then LOL. Today I got in the mail my dogs Service Dogs Vest and tags so it is now official that I have a service dog for my psychiatric needs. and for some physical tasks as well... I also had a panic attack on Wednesday while waiting to see my therapist because there were strangers around and she was late coming to get me from the waiting room. It's been a while since that panic has set in but it happened. so now I just need to teach a dog to be my service dog. whether it is the dog I have now or the new puppy, and I am gearing towards the new puppy; however when I put the vest on the dog I have now she started to work and had a different attitude altogether. I have time to make my decision and see if the puppy is going to pick up on the training that it is going to need for basic obedience training she is only like 6 weeks old right now.

Hi, I'm here and I don't spend a lot of time on EX daily because there just isn't enough hours in the day. I don't have a service dog-My 10 yr. old cats wouldn't take to well to that. But I do remember the anxiety of waiting for disability I knew I couldn't work anymore, especially in the field I had been trained for which was nursing and my husband doesn't make much money. Luckily, in the past yr. I have been stabilized on latuda and now I have more physical problems to worry about! This is a good site I've used it several times in the past 3 or 4 yrs. but groups have not really ever taken off. There are many people here that deal with psychiatric issues so stick with it for awhile anyway and I'll try to do better at checking in.

I think this could be a fascinating and informative topic on its own.   Service dogs are very near and dear to my heart as a family member was the first person in SC to have a service dog in school full-time.

You're reporting you received the vest and tags and the puppy is only six weeks old.  Is this dog being trained by someone else or you're training them?

I saw you also mentioned training the dog you have now.  I'm unfamiliar with a process like this.  Normally the dogs are groomed with a professional from a young age and then there is a matching process and then once a dog is selected the trainer  comes and the dog and new owner go through several weeks of training until they are on their own.

Glad you found this place. Hopefully participation will pick up now that you've woken it from it's slumber.

In the United States, you can train your own Service Dog for task orientated to your own needs and not someone else training them. the dog I have right now is an older dog and I was trying to use her for the SD however, she is too submissive and does not play well with others so she is a wash and I have to find another SD and I am going with and have started working with an 8-week old puppy part pit and English bull dog she is beautiful and stubborn like me and already spoiled. Right now I am working with 3 of the 8-week old puppies to be exact, in lu of the puppy I am getting.
