So far it seems rather arbitrary and silly in it's choices. Genitalia is ok but specifics aren't. Breast and tittes are ok, but b00b (rhymes with tube isn't, EVEN if you use zeros for the double oo). Pussycat is ok but only if the cat is included. Test-i-cle, is not ok even if you spell it wrong (cal or cle), but with hyphens it's dandy, but not p3nis (though tool, wang, dong, prick gonads and balls are allowed.) Excrement is okay but not it's four-letter variety. F*nny is outlawed but derriere is permitted. I guess the French make it special! (Then what happens when we want to refer to our dear friend on here who passed away by that same name? Will it just appear with 5 asterisks instead?) A-hole is all right but only if the hyphen is there. So I guess we'd better mind our Ps and Qs from now on or become very clever with our hyphens!

Thanks for the response, Mark. Perhaps the "Prohibited Word List" should be disseminated to all current and future members, just so they know that commonly used words like h3ll and f@nny need to be changed to Hades and butt. I'm joking, of course. Sort of. I've been on this site since it's inception and haven't ever witnessed a great deal of profanity. Once in a while, sure. But I thought that's what "report abuse" (in part) was for. Anyway, golly gee I hope your move goes smoothly.

Prohibited Word List will be provided to all members as soon as POTUS... Or the local bank manager gives the codes to the vault... The Prohibited word list contains more than just profanity. It also contains quite a few derogatory slurs.
I agree that there hasn't frequently been issues but before we moved there was a fair amount of content that was posted in prior to the move to Jive that contained personal attacks and resulted in some unfortunate drama. I did also remove a fair amount of very off-color comments directed towards spammers that do not represent the views of the Truth Initiative or the EX Community as a whole.
After I joined, the number of off-color comments has been dramatically reduced and the number of drama situations has also reduced. One of my roles here is to police the community as impartially as possible. Having the "report abuse" button is helpful with Jive but it's not used as frequently as I would like it to be. Sometimes things aren't marked as abuse that should be and have resulted in unnecessary uncivil public arguments. If I don't know about them and the content remains posted on the site that is indirectly endorsement of the comment. As time goes on, there may be less need for the naughty word list. Only time will tell.

I can see the point of this being a sponsored site as well as not nice posts being a potential turn off to someone looking for help.
I am still laughing at Giulia's test though. That there was funny, I don't care who you are....

Could you post the bad words as pictures?
(a one word answer is enough)

THUS IT WAS WRITTEN, THUS IT WAS DONE!
Is this The Ten Commandments? Parting of the Red Sea and ALL???!!!!! SO LET IT BE WRITTEN----SO LET IT BE DONE.
And, how ironic.....Yul Brenner....who died of lung cancer. I found the quit smoking commercials he made at the end of his life to be the most powerful messages I ever saw.
Of course, even so, I did not quit.
You got it, yes, 10 Commandments, Yul Brenner.
