If you don't want to see your mother-in-law, you can't blame that on quitting smoking! Seriously - an aversion to what? A food, a fragrance, a beverage? Welcome to EX, I am not sure I know what you are asking either, I can tell you that smells become stronger so if I smell a strong perfume that I didn't like before I quit, I HATE it now. I have COPD and COPD is progressive so even after I quit smoking, my shortness of breath got worse. Certainly, it would have progressed more quickly if I had kept smoking.

I am planning to quit AGAIN any day now. Quit quickly and successfully for over a year without cravings but i acquired an aversion to ivy growing up buildings which is everywhere. It just makes me cringe. So i started back. It did get a little better. I really want to quit now but am so afraid of this aversion getting worse again. Hanging in limbo now but i know i have to quit.

forlove Does the ivy cause a physical reaction? I am not familiar with that. My breathing did get worse after I quit smoking but it was my COPD progressing, quitting SLOWED the progression. I am certain that I would not be here if I kept smoking.
Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help. Do the reading, prepare a "quit kit", plan for what to do INSTEAD of smoking if you feel a crave. You CAN do this!
