Your thoughts please

Hi everyone. I hope you are doing well. I have been spending this past week tracking every cigarette i have had, with the when, where, questions.  I have been keeping a journal throughout each day and i have read all of the readings recommended.  I love Easyway.  I have previously set my quit date at June 13 and I am seriously considering moving it to this coming Monday. Does anyone see any particular reason to wait until the 13th?  I have started the Wellbutrin today.

Through my tracking and journal i have learned a lot about my patterns, my triggers and have solutions that will help me through. While reading Easyway, i took notes and have made cards to keep with me to read though out the day.  This book completely changed the way i viewed smoking and quitting. It made so much sense to me.

I would love your thoughts. Thank you. Karyn

Iamkfaz  My decision was made FOR me...I had to choose between breathing and smoking and it wasn't much of a contest.  You know if you are ready to commit and only you know how much you are willing to deal with the "discomfort" of the beginning of your quit and on your journey.   Whatever you decide PLEASE remember that it IS a journey and not an event.   It is one day at a time, one step at a time, one situation at a time...you know YOU.

I did the cigarette tracker too. There was alot that I learned. I knew that i smoked out of boredom and when i was stressed but there were other feelings too. I started my quit sooner than i was anticipating. Go for it! I agree with the above, stay close to site. It's important especially if you need to call upon someone to help you through.

Take it a day at a time, or even an hour at a time, I carried apicture of my family with me everywhere.

the sooner you quit the sooner you will be past the milestones.

Remember the choice is to breathe or not to breathe. I would rather breathe than smoke.

I don't have to do that to myself anymore.

Get yourself some hobbies to keep yourself busy and your hands.

exercise , can't emphasize that enough it will help with the weight gain.

every time you want to smoke , take a short walk , or a long one whatever you have time for and that you tolerate.

at least 5 minutes.

Try to eat from the rainbow and limit refined carbs and sugar if you can.

stay away from smokers for a while.

you sound like you are ready to me.

hve a nice sunday !

I too felt "ready" before my quit date but it was only 3 days earlier so I made myself wait and the effect was tremendous.... on my last day I was actually tired of smoking, couldn't stand the taste any longer and it was a big relief to put out the last one at my designated time.  Now, my memory of smoking is quite negative and it has helped me a lot in times of temptation, and temptation comes up a lot for me in this NML! Just sayin'

I'm not too much for tracking in that way. We smoke whenever we get the idea to. the important thing is to stop and think, not track

I loved EASYWAY too. It really changed my thinking on smoking and made the unknown a little less fearful, it actually increased my courage. I say quit Monday if you still feel that way when you get up in the morning.

My grandmother had an ole saying she used to tell me. I have always followed it and it has never lead me the wrong way. I also passed this advice to our kids....and now they pass it to theirs...

" If you have to ask yourself if you should or you shouldn't, then the answer is to not do it. When it is the 'right time' , you will not have to ask yourself if it is....you will know in your heart, listen to your heart"

She was a very wise woman who lived to 99 years old. She was only 5 months from 100. I miss her dearly.

Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide. It is YOUR quit:) You will do great, your prepared and ready....and your here!

There is NO magic to a computer generated date. If you feel ready to go...do it. Only you can know the right time FOR YOU.......as far as generally........There is NEVER a bad time to quit smoking.

Stay Strong and keep in touch
