they have me on 40mg omeprazole twice a day. If I'm feeling weird or eat too late, I have sucralfate suspension.

Pitch your bed. Get the head higher than the foot. Bricks or books or I bought a contraption for $200 that works great. I try to eat dinner before 5pm.

DGL

Deglycyrrhizinated Licorice (DGL) for Acid Reflux: Is It Safe?

Someone on youtube said she took 1tsp of raw honey each night for a couple weeks and it cured her.

I'm about 99% sure my damage was done at night. I say this because they put a tracker in my esophagus with a screen and I could see the ph change when I took a sip of water or ate a meal and during the day, it never went into the danger area.

Of course I was still taking my PPI twice a day.

Smoking will only fire up your reflux like literally just visualizing smoking with reflux or heartburn make me think of adding fire to fire so we definitely don't want to go that route. Don't let nico tell you "you used to smoke with your reflux and it helped" no it didn't if anything it progressed it by setting fire to your esophagus. Now that you've quit your body is maybe getting used to a new normal. You may notice things get worse for a while and some things get better instantly. Just know "this too shall pass" and "smoking with ONLY change my quit date." It'll do more TO you than it could ever do FOR you. I like the idea of trying warm drinks I also heard flour and water help I'm not sure if need to be warmed though. I also heard somewhere that a spoonful of mustard help. I ALSO heard somewhere (I wonder where) that smoking WONT help ANYTHING!

Thanks for yelling help first!

It blows my mind that when you have a really bad day of dealing with acid reflux that the urge to smoke comes upon you.  Smoking is a major negative factor in that problem in that it contributes to GERD.  The symptoms cause you panic which lead you to the "panacea" of smoking.  I understand the emotions of it, but wow.  Every DAY is struggle for you to remain quit?  After 5 months?  Then something hasn't yet sunk into you brain.  I think you're still "missing" it.  Until you agree in your heart (emotions), not your intellect ("I know I should") - you're gonna suffer through every day of your journey.  I think you need to spend deep time finding the heart of our quit for yourself.  You don't have to suffer through every single day.  Some, sure, even after years.  I'll have a day where it's like I WANT TO SMOKE NOW!  But it's just one day, or - not even - it's just an hour or a couple.  But it's gone by the next day.  Find what you need within you to give it up.  You haven't given it up.  You haven't said, it's ok - I don't need that any more.  Or even - have you gotten to the place where you've said to yourself - " I simply won't do that any more.  And I'm OK with that?"  Find that place and you will no longer suffer through every single day.  So hoping that you find that place within you...
