Give and get support around quitting
Listen to a member of our community who learned the hard way.
"I once lost a quit just from going to a bar with friends and I didn't even have a drink ! The party atmosphere alone did me in and I lost a 3 month quit ! All of those days all of that work gone for one evening it was not worth the consequences ! Don't pay the piper !
Even worse.... after losing that quit I went 10 years before I even was willing to try again !"
Your quit needs to remain your #1 priority! Why chance this?
A quit is a terrible thing to lose.
Nancy
You are absolutely right Nancy, I lost a few quits due to alcohol and went at least a decade before trying again and lost another quit due to one too many drinks and went another decade but thankfully I quit drinking so my quit is safe from alcohol , please don't chance it i like this saying which is so true. ((( I do not think that I should drink, for if I drink, I do not think.))) Protect your quit with your life because your life literally depends on remaining smoke Free.

Don't Drink and Quit, there is now law against it, but our law of quitting based on hard earned experience/evidence!
I totally agree, I am only 40 days quit, and I won't go around anyone that smokes. I say make it easy on yourself, not harder, good luck Helen.
Amen....I gave up all alcohol when I quit. I stayed away from it for about a year and a half because whenever I drank , even just one drink, I would want to smoke.
Now I can enjoy a cocktail and smoking never even crosses my mind. But I made the decision I would take ALL measures to to protect my quit. Avoiding all alcohol was one of them. I also avoided any atmosphere where smoking was around me and friends that smoked. They were understanding and a couple even quit with me:)
Boy oh boy is this accurate!
I drink a glass of red wine every evening (for medicinal purposes, of course)
And ive noticed it REALLY triggers a craving.
Thank u you for the reminder:-)
