I do not like this new format.  Our Ex was so personal and comforting to so many.  When quitting smoking or even long after sometimes you feel kind of lonely.  We could always come here and feel a part of the community.  This feels horrible.  Progress?  It does not feel that way to me.

I agree that the old site was comfortable, and I don't understand why it had to change.....but the only choice outside of leaving is to give it a shot.....please hang in there, and hopefully we'll be able to get comfortable with the new site.  I can say honestly as a new quitter, I will not be depending on the EX site like I would have.....bad timing for me.....I will include the site in my quit, but it won't play nearly the role that it would have before.....I've got to be ok with that.

Hopefully we will be able to figure this new format out soon and hopefully be able to personalize it somehow so we can all hook up and brighten up each other's day and be there for each other to lift someone up if that's what they need but most of all to be able to help each other stay smoke free especially new people thinking about quitting smoking, I really don't know what I'm doing yet either!

Could you share with me some of the things you're missing from the old platform? How did you used to connect with others? That would help us guide you toward ways to do that now.

Hi there, yes, before you just signed on and hit blogs...everything was there.  I could just scroll thru and catch up very quickly. My friends activity was on the same screen, to the left. I am not a person with a lot of time between work and family....I miss it all being in one spot. It was just so easy to find blogs, whether it be a question or a comment, they were all there, right there in front of you.

You guys did a great job, obviously very educated in the computer programming world....but in my opinion, simple is better for a site like this....the laid back friendliness of the old site was one of its attractions....I'm feeling like this is too clinical for me, if that makes any sense.

I will have to give it time, and like I mentioned above....great job doing what you guys do, I'm impressed with your talent.

Hope I'm not hurting anyone's feelings, but it would be pointless not to be honest here.....My quit is coming soon

Thanks for your insightful response, cheyenne7‌. We've been hearing that a lot today -- that it's unclear where to "just go." And that's normal -- we've just moved into a "new house," so to speak, and even though we're mostly unpacked, it's maybe hard to know.

You're not hurting anyone's feelings! We appreciate your honest feedback, and encourage you to continue to give it in Community Help‌. 

You can leverage the My EX Feed to set up "Streams" to quickly see all your friends' activity in one place. I recommend reading https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/docs/DOC-1074-creating-a-new-stream-for-my-ex-feed?sr=search&sear... to learn more. Hopefully this will help!

You can also set up My EX Feed to be your "homepage." To do so:

1. Click on your avatar dropdown and select Preferences
   
2. Select "News" as your homepage preference from the dropdown
   
3. Click Save!

Don't mean to make your job any tougher, but it doesn't hurt to ask : )

I think I read some place that we'll be able to change the background eventually, making it more homey, personal....instead of sky blue...

Not sure what we can do to make avatars bigger but will look into it!
