WHAT'S IT ALL ABOUT ANYWAY???

THIS GROUP REGARDING SUPPORT FOR THOSE OF US WHO HAVE BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH SUC DISORDERS AS BI/POLAR DISORDER, ADD, ADHD, UNI-POLAR DEPRESSION, ANXIETY DISORDERS IS INTENDED TO SUPPORT THOSE OF US IN THE EX-COMMUNITY WHO HAVE EITHER BEEN DIAGNOSED WITH AN EMOTIONAL DISORDER OR WHOSE LIVES ARE PROFOUNDLY AFFECTED BY THOSE WHO HAVE.

THIS IS NOT A PROFESSIONAL GROUP AND THEREFORE WE DON'T DISPENSE ANY MEDICAL ADVICE!!!

IT IS UNFORTUNATE; BUT, THERE ARE MANY IN TH EX-COMMUNITY WHO DO NOT HAVE ANY EMOTIONAL DISORDER; BUT, ARE PROFOUNDLY AFFECTED IN A NEGATIVE SENSE BY THOSE WHO DO.  THEN THERE THOSE LIKE ME WHO DO HAVE BI/POLAR DISORDER, ADHD AND DIABETES!

THAT'S CORRECT, DIABETES, A DISEASE WHICH OFTEN PRODUCES VOLITILE MOOD SWINGS.

NOW, FOR A PERSON LIKE ME WHO HAS ALL OF THE ABOVE ONGOING AS A REGULAR PART OF MY DAY IN/DAY OUT EMOTIONAL LIFE AND WHO NOW IS QUITTING SMOKING AT MIDNIGHT TONIGHT, 31 DEC., 2013, I AM ONE SCARED PUPPY AND AM COUNTING HEAVILY ON MEMBERS OF THIS GROUP TO HELP ME KEEP MY POOP TOGETHER!!

WILL PLEASE JOIN THE 4 OF US WHO ARE CURRENTLY GROUP MEMBERS.  I HAVE BEEN WARNED THAT PEOPLE DON'T JOIN THE GROUPS ANYMORE; BUT, I BELIEVE THAT A GROUP THAT OFFERS RELEVANT HELP AND SUPPORT TO ITS MEMBERS AND DEVELOPS A BROAD AND DEEP MEMBERSHIP BASE WILL NOT ONLY SURVIVE; BUT, IT WILL THRIVE!!!

EVERYONES INPUT IS WELCOME, BE IT THROUGH POSTING YOUR OWN BLOG HERE AS A MEMBER OF THE GROUP OR IN JOINING IN GROUP DISCUSSION!  AS FAR AS I KNOW ANY GROUP MEMBER CAN POST A TOPIC FOR GROUP DISCUSSION!!

I AM LISTED AS THE GROUP OWNER AND THAT IS SIMPLY NOT THE FACT.  AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED AS SOON AS YOU JOIN THE GROUP YOU BECOME AN EQUAL OWNER!

PLEASE RESPOND AS SOON AS YOU CAN AND MORE IMPPORTANTLY JOIN TODAY, LIKE RIGHT NOW!!!  IF YOU EXPERIENCE ANY DIFFICULTY HIT ME UP WITH A MESSAGE AT bigbear1

RE: GROUPS

I've had many groups I've created and they were real popular as long as I devoted myself to them but how much energy do you have?

I have a group on facebook and it's the same situation. Unless you devote all your time to keeping it alive, it dies. (or just languishes)

I've found my time is best served responding on the main blog because it's always active and you can help people in real time.

ALL CAPS

what does that mean?

BB, your best support is going to come from the blogs. Why don't you just try to stay on the blogs, read other people's blogs and lean on those that have good solid quits going?

Happy New Year!

Please consider looking for similarities instead of differences...You have particular challenges but nicotine addiction is nicotine addiction and is treated the same across the board...

Stop using it and get better!

ALL other medical conditions will improve without ingesting a poisonous chemical all day long every day.

We are just like you in this way bi-polar or not! xo

A new year A new YOU!!! New Year's REVOLUTION! xo

Thank you, BigBear, for forming this group.  I actually stumbled across it by "accident" - I hit the tab " Groups" instead of where I meant to go was "Blogs".  This group immediately caught my attention.  I am almost 2 years smoke free; however, last year some really frightening symptoms started happening to me.  I have been on and off anti-depressants all my life but they just weren't working this time.  Then I started having panic attacks, night terrors, and electrical body zaps that really HURT!  I would jump out of my bed from a sound sleep and land on the floor.  What is happening to me?  None of my new symptoms triggered a desire to smoke.  I think the thought of having a cigarette through all the way to the end, and what would I be left with?  A stinky body, that horrible cough and phlegm, constant worry if I was going to get lung cancer, and worst of all, absolutely HATING myself for the failure!  On my Day 1, I said over and over again...." I CHOOSE to be a HAPPY, non-smoker JUST FOR TODAY."  I only quit for ONE DAY at a time because that is all my little pea brain could handle.  Read the advise above, and you must educate, educate, educate yourself about the nasty NICOdemon and what you are up against.  And, like Dale said go to the main blogs for support.  Just blog "I NEED HELP"  and 20 people will come running to assist you.

Since my new diagnosis last July, I haven't been around much on this site to help others just because I couldn't be.  I was diagnosed with Depression, Anxiety, and PTSD.  My first comment was "but I'm not a soldier and I've never been to Afghanistan!".   Well, I guess I have been a soldier fighting other personal battles (family and ex husband) that were beyond my control.  I have never been comfortable blogging this in the main community because, after all, it is my personal battle and has nothing to do with helping others to quit smoking.  SO THANK YOU FOR GIVING ME A PLACE TO BE TOTALLY HONEST!!

Stay with us and stick very close to this site.  You CAN do this and be a WINNER.
