Welcome to the Ex.   Please "Post to My Blog" to introduce yourself.   There are lots of quitters here that would like to get to know you and lend their support.

Educate yourself about nicotine addiction and create a quit plan.  These two steps made quitting possible for me.  The reward cigarette can actually the be hardest to get past.  You can accomplish that by creating new associations and behaviors instead of smoking. We're here to support you, so just reach out anytime you need support or would like to share your experience.

Hi! My name is Monique.  I'm a widow, mother of 6, grad student, soap and candle maker.  I just turned 40 and I've smoked on and off since I was 15. My kids lost their father and I, my husband 3 years ago to lung cancer.  I'm truly tired of smoking and my quit date is Wednesday, August 19, 2020. I used to be a Quitnet member long ago and I was looking for the site, which I was saddened to hear it's no longer up. I was then lead here.  I wanna be around longer for my kids and that's my "WHY".

Hi Monique!  Welcome to our quit family.  There is a quitnet group here that moved over from that site, perhaps you'll recognize a few of the people:  QuitNet‌  If you were on quitnet I'm sure you've already learned a lot about this addiction.  Did you manage to quit while there?  Sorry you lost your husband to lung cancer.  It's an awful disease.  Quitting is the best thing you can do for yourself (and your 6??!!!) children.  Give a holler if you need help getting around the place.  Best way to meet people here is to put up a blog.   Tomorrow's your big day and it will enable people to support you.  Chin up!

Thank you.  I did quit while I was there but I went back.  No excuses to make, I didn't slip,  I CHOOSE to smoke.  And I'm ready to stop for good.  3 of my sons are grown and the other 3 will be out the door in 7 years.  I want to be around for them and my grandchildren (if they have kids). But yes, Quitnet taught me alot.  But more importantly, I LOVED the support that the community exhibited. So here I am!

Yeah I managed to find the group.  I was just in there reminiscing the many many nights I spent at the legendary bonfires.  I lost alot of the things I have saved.  Do you happen to have that poem about moving to a new address? I can't remember the name of it.
