Can I use vapor products to quit smoking?

Can I use vapor products to quit smoking? I hear it’s much less harmful than smoking.

That's actually how I quit over 2 years ago. If you have a plan and stick to it, it can work.

Read my story here:  https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/people/AnnetteMM/blog/2019/09/08/how-to-quit-juul-or-vaping-in-ge...

Welcome to the Ex.  It's your choice to use any of the available aids or none.  Do your research.  The information out out there seems to indicate more and more that it's not safe.   I've never vaped, but it seems new quitters who switched to vaping to quit smoking are having a harder time quitting because apparently they deliver greater doses of nicotine.  Read some of the posts on the site so you can make an educated decision.

Whatever you decide, you still have to do the work. Any choice is an aid.  I used Welbutrin and nicotrol inhalers.  And the support on this site was instrumental in my quit.  Educate yourself about nicotine addiction and create quit plan.

Whatever you decide, we're here for you.

I would like to suggest a very good book to help you quit smoking...  It is called “The Easy Way To Stop Smoking” by Allen Carr...  I quit Cold Turkey after over 50 years of smoking and I will have my two year anniversary, being smoke free, on August 12, 2020...  You can do this.  We are all here to help and support you!

I don't recommend vaping but that is a personal choice, I have seen too many people struggle to stop vaping which they only started to stop smoking.  I suggest reading everything you can about nicotine addiction and making a plan for YOUR recovery.  Identify your triggers and plan what you will do instead of smoking when you quit.  The beginning is hard but it gets easier and it is a journey, not a fight.

Welcome to EX,

Ellen
