Let's Get Moving Part 3

Jump to solution

'The original idea was to "get moving" at least 4 times a week, staying accountable to each other.  Post your accomplishments in the comments. This is the original blog link if you would like to clarify the guidelines

Let's Get Moving Challenge - EX Community.   Any activity counts, as long as you get off your butt and get your heart pumping.  Who knows, maybe we'll lose a little weight or a couple of inches in the meantime.  I hope placing it in discussions this time will work better than a blog post where there were so many entries and becomes harder to locate.  Let's see if we can keep it on the board often and easy to find.

I believe we got sidetracked when I suggested doing other challenges and those challenges were not conducive to everyone. My fault. Lesson learned.  So I am hoping we can get back to doing what "you" do instead of a specific routine.  Got it?.   In the previous post, there were a lot of comments to go through to come up with this list of who participated.  Hopefully, it will catch on again.  Of course, sometimes we got off topic which can happen.  This post really kept me motivated and we had a lot of fun while learning a lot from each other with over 2519 comments on the first blog and 1072 Let's Get Moving 2018 - EX Community  on second blog comments. So let's Get Moving Part 3!

The water was chilly after rain last night and it was overcast, so didn't get in beyond my waist, but I DID water walk for 30 minutes and that was wonderful, too..

I am getting  to know this neighbor better, too - and like her better every time I talk with her.  Finding out we are kindred spirits - both ADHD!!!  AND - she has a VW bus from the 60's!!!!

Glad you walked, my knee and actually the whole right leg (the thigh gets numb after 15-20 min while I fix dinner on my feet ) hurt, it is why this year more than any other time in my life I am using the pool every day.  It is the exercise allowing me the 30 min workout I can't otherwise do.

Ah to be young again!  Those who have never experienced constant pain- haven't a clue.  Happily!  Let those of us who do dwell in constant pain not dwell on it in our minds.  It only makes us feel worse.  Here's to a good tomorrow and more moving!

Not dwelling on it Giulia‌, just explaining why my comments are constantly about swimming and nothing else, and for that I apologize. The extensive walking I did as a "tool" to my quit 4 years ago, might have something to do with the inability to walk these days. But I am happy, and thankful for the private pool, as boring as a that might seem.

Nothing to apologize for.  And it's not boring at all.  Didn't I imply that?  If so I sure didn't mean to.  I was thinking of those of us who have constant body pains, especially those who every day seem to have some different pain and that's mostly what they spend their time talking about (a discussion we had recently).  And what we focus on tends to increase.  N'est- cest pas?

You can include me in that category Giulia‌, cause I am in pain pretty much all the time!  After more than 2 months, I was able to get one hour massage today, and I promise you, it made me feel like a train ran over me.  No idea if it was all the knots he worked on, or the stress we all experienced since the lock down, but man, I could barely get off that table, and walk out to the car!  I am sure the positive effects will come, and I plan on seeing him in a couple of weeks again, but man, oh man, I got in the pool to feel weightless, the bed wasn't helping, tried to take a nap, no way I could fall asleep.  Note: I do not get relaxing massages, I get the therapeutic massage, deep tissue, basically working out as much as we can in one hour of the contracted muscles in my limbs, and lower back.

Well I hope all those therapeutic benefits are felt tomorrow.

It's a rainy day here today . If there's a break in the weather I will throw on a rain jacket and do loops around my block .

Otherwise , it's a rest day or going through kitchen cupboards lol . Choosing the top ones for an upper body workout lol .. again the same old thing for me too really but making myself accountable to myself and you all by posting .

I will as usual be riding my stationary bike  ...  no excuses and upping the time to 45 minutes and upping the resistance .  Consistancy brings reward .  Liking the thought of a rest day  with 45 biking

I know pain too .  Water helped my joints a lot .. used to fo warm water Zumba classes back before covid days .. Hope everyone's pain is manageable today . One day at a time . We can do this . No matter what it feels good to have a plan , be it needing a restful day , or needing a hard work out day . Another great excersise is to sing

If I sang, lots of folks would get a good run in to get away from it!  I can't even stand to listen to me.  I so admire those of you who can.  What a gift!

Everyone can sing , I'm not good at it ... trust me I have shoo---ed away lots of people lol . They didn't appreciate mediocre singing  no matter how you sing , it feels good inside  some people never thought they could sing either and they are music sensations today .
