Certain EX Addresses Not Secure?

Jump to solution

Just noticed this when I was on this blog  (don't understand why this one is different from others which do have the "lock" symbol.):  https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/message/245012-365-days-of-freedom

Here's another that appears not secure:  19 Years

Yet here's one that IS:  Shout your stats

Is it perhaps dependent from which location a person is posting?  From their phone vs their laptop?  Or perhaps posting from their email ????

this is from the 19 years

Just a "heads up". If a image or link is inserted in a thread, that not secure is a warning not to click any link

This thread (yours) is good on my end

Well isn't THAT interesting!  Thanks!  There were no specific links mentioned in that other post, but there were pictures and emoji.  Fascination captain.  Appreciate your response.  Whisper on.

At a glance: the "CONGRATULATIONS with balloons" image halfway down the page is served from another host and not invoked via 'https'. In theory that image could be modified by evil-doers before you see it.

In fact it can be invoked through https but not all ways of inserting an image do this naturally (by default).

You NEED "secure page" for login, or any page where you post your personal secrets. Real-name, credit card info, maybe that list of your other lovers. General group support postings like this community do not really need "secure page". https does not protect you from clicking on a link which goes to bad places (that's what our Moderator and community eyes are for).
