Well if you don't know where or how to start you've come to a great place - EX -  that will help you with that.  Quitting is a Skill that CAN be Learned  You know what?  You discover your strength as you take this walk.  It's really quite an amazing journey.  Our hands are held out to your.  We're walking it with you.

Lord, did I miss my happy delusion, my smokes, the whole shebang. Couldn't I smoke and quit at the same time, I joked.

I have to admit that I did not just lose the comfort of a pleasant delusion, I gained something, too, though slowly and very grudgingly at first: an inner strength--something that is innate to most at birth--the ability to learn something new, to adjust, grow and adapt day to day. To that end, inner strength in trade for a delusion? I know I made out O.K. I made it past the addiction. (Maryfreecig Quitting Cigarettes Journal )

Welcome to the Ex.  Have you researched using an aid this time?   There's various types of nicotine replacement and medications (Chantix and Webutrin.   Having the support from this site is also a great motivator.   Pick a quit date and I recommend signing up for text messages from the Ex.  I received them daily and found them helpful getting me excited about my quit date.

Welcome to EX, read everything you can find about nicotine addiction,  many people have found "The Easy Way to Quit Smoking" by Allen Carr.  You can get it from your local library.  Track the cigarettes you smoke and write down what the triggers are, PLAN for what you will do INSTEAD of smoking when those triggers happen, they WILL happen.  The good news is that the triggers get weaker as you get stronger.  Stay close to this site, I came here every morning and every evening when I quit.  I had many failed quits before this one but the support and advice I received from these amazing people has kept me smoke free for five years and just under 11 months.  I read blogs, I commented, I wrote what I was feeling, and I put my quit first, before anything else.  I protected it like its very life was dependent upon me, because it WAS, it always will be.  I made a commitment to myself not to smoke, NO MATTER WHAT.  I used the mantra NOPE, Not One Puff Ever and I said NOPE over and over and over again, silently, quietly, loudly...any time I needed  reminder that there is no such thing as just one.
