'The original idea was to "get moving" at least 4 times a week, staying accountable to each other. Post your accomplishments in the comments. This is the original blog link if you would like to clarify the guidelines
. Let's Get Moving Challenge. Any activity counts, as long as you get off your butt and get your heart pumping. Who knows, maybe we'll lose a little weight or a couple of inches in the meantime. I hope placing it in discussions this time will work better than a blog post where there were so many entries and becomes harder to locate. Let's see if we can keep it on the board often and easy to find.
I believe we got sidetracked when I suggested doing other challenges and those challenges were not conducive to everyone. My fault. Lesson learned. So I am hoping we can get back to doing what "you" do instead of a specific routine. Got it?. In the previous post, there were a lot of comments to go through to come up with this list of who participated. Hopefully, it will catch on again. Of course, sometimes we got off topic which can happen. This post really kept me motivated and we had a lot of fun while learning a lot from each other with over 2519 comments on the first blog and 1072Let's Get Moving 2018 on second blog comments. So let's Get Moving Part 3!
Hi everyone! Trying to get in the routine of getting here daily to check in. Looks like everyone is still moving. Finished up my 2 week free pass at LA Fitness. I really liked their water aerobics and a strength training class I tried. They wouldn't wave the initation fees or the yearly fee, so no deal for me, so back to you tube exercise for now. Raked leaves and did yard work over the weekend and woke up sick on Monday, so my exercise has been bed rest. Everyone keep moving and I will be back to join in.
3 miles today with my puppy love!
Hope you feel better soon!
1 mile walk workout with Leslie with weighted vest on.
Glad to see you. I hope you get better real soon. Youtube is good for EXercise. My last Fitbit band is broken (waiting for replacement)so I haven't really been tracking/logging steps. I would love to start a walking challenge soon. Are you coming to the reunion?I do walk a mile + a day with my new dog girl Cocoa. I have done my daily morning walk. A little crisp frost on the ground kind of morning. Bundling up makes a difference. Enjoyed it. Everybody...Let's get MOVING today!
Awesome!
My dog only last 2 miles. After 1.5 I have to start pulling her to come.
Tough time getting motivated today. Read a few quotes for inspiration and decided they're right... "it's a long process, but it's not going to go any faster by giving up!" So, morning workout complete. 45 minutes elliptical and a full set up upper body weight reps. This afternoon when it warms up I'll go outside and take my chicken for a walk.
I must know more about walking a chicken.
Wow Trudy tjanddj you go girl with that weighted vest!! What weight is your vest? JACKIE1-25-15 Thanks I hope I feel better soon too. Broke down went to doctor today, went for chest x-ray right lower lobe pneumonia, so antibiotics and predisone and hopefully back on the mends. Let me know when you get your bands, would love to do a challenge. Yes my plans are to go to the reunion, I have this challenge with myself to see how much weight I can lose before the reunion, so far down 20 lbs since Virginia. So I have to get up and move. How about you? I read you had a new dog, what kind of dog is Cocoa? Love that name by the way. Yeah we area little crispy here, actually Tues we got 3 inches of snow. Geesh too early for that. ripnruppie sounds like you found your motivation and got a good workout in. Hmm taking a chicken for a walk? Sounds interesting!!! lol HI TriGirl Way to go on those 3 miles. Keep on moving! Have a good evening.
Rest up and get well soon Sharon. No fun being sick. Congratulations on your weight loss. I have my weight vest at 5.5 lbs. and will work it back up to 9 lbs. I misplaced my vest for a while so lightened it up some to get used to it again. .
Did weights and 1 mile workout with Leslie.
Sorry to hear about your pneumonia, kid. Hope the antibiotics and hideous prednisone knocks it out of you. And good for you for losing 20 pounds since May! Hurrah!
I have a little 7 week old chicken that needed a home. His mom and siblings were killed by a fox and the other chickens in the coop were hurting him and not taking him in. The wife took him out of the coop, but her husband wouldn't let her keep the little chicken in the house and was going to kill it, so she called me. Zazu has a cage and chicken diapers are on their way, but he still needs to have outside time so we go for walks around the yard and explore. He's a perfect snack for a hawk or other animal though, so I have to walk with him.
He's too little to be outside in northern Minnesota by himself this time of year and through winter, but next spring he'll hopefully be willing to move in with the baby chicks I'll get for an outside coop.
Long story, but my neighbor ended up with a chicken. They built a small coop for it, and made space for it with a perch inside in an unfinished space for the cold winter nights. I still remember them carrying it in at night! Most days (unless snow covered the ground) it spent outside in its fenced yard on one side of the coop (they had chicken wire over the top of its yard, too). Its name was Henrietta, and it lived for years and years!
Yesterday I walked a lot. Too tired to come and post. I wish I could grocery shop in just one store. Bargain shopping takes a lot of steps. Have a great day. No morning walk. Raining hard. Hopefully, it will clear up soon. The daily walks have been very helpful for me with toning muscles and not a lot of hard work. hmm, Go Figure.
I walked two parking lots and shopped Home Goods and Kohls. I can't REMEMBER the last time I actually went shopping...maybe the Spring? I am now only using a cane, and I can walk behind a cart, so it's much easier. Also hung my wash outside before I left.....winter clothes are heavy, so I put the basket in my yard wagon and pull them out with it. I LOVE my wagon!!
I was moving! I actually hope PT will work to strengthen my hips and knee enough that I can go walking by the river again. I miss that!
I hope you can grow strong enough to go walking by the river again too. Make it a goal! Kudos on the moving you did.
Cut chick ripnruppie. Chicken diapers????? You're kidding, right? No. You're not. I just spent the past 15 minutes watching videos on chicken diapering. Who woulda thought! Just learned something new. Thanks! Looks like an exercise all by itself!
My leaf blower I took into the shop a week ago. Called today to see how things were coming along. They haven't started on it yet. So, out came the rake for two hours. I got my exercise!
Keep on rollin'.....
I love Zazu!! And I love that you're taking such good care of him! Thank you for sharing-- and I will now also go and Google chicken diapering! Cause that's what Friday nights are for, eh!?!
Did 1.5 mile workout walk with Leslie.
I joined a gym when I hit 2 years. I do cardio work chest, leg's for an hour 6 days a week.
Well, folks, it is Sunday. I don't do much on Sunday. Yesterday we had gale force winds and I still did my 1.5 miles. I was impressed. I wrapped well and was off with Cocoa. Did a 90 minute PT session yesterday, including 15 minutes of cardio. My PT is incorporating yoga poses into my session, too, which I LOVE! I actually did a 30 minute walk today in the neighborhood (with a cane - but a walk nonetheless) and my hips didn't scream!! Progress! I also did a 15 minute chair yoga with Adrienne today JACKIE1-25-15 I used to love to walk in the rain, properly attired, but gale force winds????!!!!! .Giulia - You must be WOMAN to be able to carry a leaf blower much less USE it!!! tjanddj I. admire that you have the discipline to walk inside with somebody on a screen! TriGirl Figured out how to diaper a chicken yet? Gai.C happy to have you moving with us!!!
