Let's Get Moving Part 3

Jump to solution

'The original idea was to "get moving" at least 4 times a week, staying accountable to each other.  Post your accomplishments in the comments. This is the original blog link if you would like to clarify the guidelines

Let's Get Moving Challenge - EX Community.   Any activity counts, as long as you get off your butt and get your heart pumping.  Who knows, maybe we'll lose a little weight or a couple of inches in the meantime.  I hope placing it in discussions this time will work better than a blog post where there were so many entries and becomes harder to locate.  Let's see if we can keep it on the board often and easy to find.

I believe we got sidetracked when I suggested doing other challenges and those challenges were not conducive to everyone. My fault. Lesson learned.  So I am hoping we can get back to doing what "you" do instead of a specific routine.  Got it?.   In the previous post, there were a lot of comments to go through to come up with this list of who participated.  Hopefully, it will catch on again.  Of course, sometimes we got off topic which can happen.  This post really kept me motivated and we had a lot of fun while learning a lot from each other with over 2519 comments on the first blog and 1072 Let's Get Moving 2018 - EX Community  on second blog comments. So let's Get Moving Part 3!

I walked two parking lots and shopped Home Goods and Kohls.  I can't REMEMBER the last time I actually went shopping...maybe the Spring?   I am now only using a cane, and I can walk behind a cart, so it's much easier.  Also hung my wash outside before I left.....winter clothes are heavy, so I put the basket in my yard wagon and pull them out with it.  I LOVE my wagon!!

I was moving!  I actually hope PT will work to strengthen my hips and knee enough that I can go walking by the river again.  I miss that!

I hope you can grow strong enough to go walking by the river again too.  Make it a goal!  Kudos on the moving you did.

Cut chick ripnruppie‌.  Chicken diapers?????   You're kidding, right?  No.  You're not.  I just spent the past 15 minutes watching videos on chicken diapering.  Who woulda thought!  Just learned something new.  Thanks!  Looks like an exercise all by itself!

My leaf blower I took into the shop a week ago.  Called today to see how things were coming along.  They haven't started on it yet.  So, out came the rake for two hours.  I got my exercise!

Keep on rollin'.....

Well, folks, it is Sunday. I don't do much on Sunday. Yesterday we had gale force winds and I still did my 1.5 miles.  I was impressed.  I wrapped well and was off with Cocoa.  YoungAtHeart‌ I ma elated that you are making progress.  tjanddj‌ we are going to have to do a Leslie Challenge. Gai.C‌ keep on MOVING.  I am glad you are here.  I do a little cardio with the seniors 2-3 times a week.  I am finding that walking is the best EXercise for me. Giulia‌ you know I love you so anything that you do is good.  Keep on Raking.  lol

Did a 90 minute PT session yesterday, including 15 minutes of cardio. My PT is incorporating yoga poses into my session, too,  which I LOVE!   I actually did a 30 minute walk today in the neighborhood (with a cane - but a walk nonetheless) and my hips didn't scream!!  Progress!  I also did a 15 minute chair yoga with Adrienne today  JACKIE1-25-15 I used to love to walk in the rain, properly attired, but gale force winds????!!!!! .Giulia - You must be WOMAN to be able to carry a leaf blower much less USE it!!!  tjanddj I. admire that you have the discipline to walk inside with somebody on a screen!  TriGirl Figured out how to diaper a chicken yet?  Gai.C  happy to have you moving with us!!!

Thanks Nancy. If it was just walking she did I would get bored and be done with it. It's a workout. It is great for the core muscles too. Gets you prepped up for the outdoor walks and runs. And then there is you Nancy the one that keeps on keeping on no matter what.  Keep on moving! (when it is safe to do so)

We could alternate selecting one of the workouts or start with week one and just post the link here for a daily challenge.  If that makes sense like tomorrow we could do  Like tomorrow we could do for an example.  WAKE UP & Walk! Week 1 | Walk At Home YouTube Workout Series | Mini Walk & Sculpt Arms - YouTube or 1 Mile In Home Walk! | Walking Workout Videos - YouTube  lol Let's get MOVING.  If you have done one then you can send me the challenge.  Any suggestion is welcome.  Just an idea.  I do not want to get off track of MOVING. Therefore this would be an additional challenge.

I will do any and all of them including the 4 mile ones. Is everyone up for 4 mile walk with Leslie? Any random one works for me.

Would it be easier if we post 5 days worth at a time or daily?
