Give and get support around quitting

Quitting smoking vs vaping

I'm wondering if there are any users who have insight into unique challenges faced while quitting vaping as opposed to smoking cigarettes. Seems to me that quitting gradually might be harder for the vaper in some ways in that it is difficult to quantify amount vaped per day (I.e. you can't count cigs) other than to allot oneself a certain number of pods/liquid for a period of time and titrate down until the quit date. I just set my quit date as october 18th, a Friday (so I have the weekend to cope w any withdrawal sx).

Definitely start to cut your actual number of mg's of nicotine that you are taking in as much as you can prior to your quit date. Have your quit kit ready(you can read about a good kit here or on the app I listed below, which was recommended to me on this site), with ways to deal with cravings, stress, and various other situations. Then you use this site as well as an app like Quit Start.(they also help keep your hands busy) And read Allen Carr's  The Easy Way To Stop Smoking.

YES.  I quit vaping.

Also, arbitrary quit dates only work if you run out of stuff on exactly that day. Do you buy pods daily, or ahead of time?

Another also, you can't really count on being "done" with withdrawal on a weekend. It might be better to be distracted by work, actually.

I think I’m going to need the weekend so I don’t scare away my coworkers. There is no way I can tell them I’m cranky cause I just stopped Juuling!

I think you are wondering if there is a difference in quitting techniques? I think everyone’s quit’s are somewhat different...but no matter what...I think we are addicts whether we vape, smoke, ecigs, etc., and as addicts the only way to quit is to stop feeding the addiction...therefore replacing our addiction we better and healthy activities...just my 2 cents ... glad you are quitting the vape on Friday...we are here to support you...~ Colleen 302 DOF

I vaped way more than I ever smoked. The problem I had with vaping is that I wanted to vape all the time and I did...I found it all consuming and very hard to control...so my humble opinion is prepare your mind for your quit date...read Alan Carr’s book—-that helped me big time...and check in with this site often—-there is great support here. You can and will succeed!

Same here, it's more addictive in my opinion. It's just to easy. I ended up

vaping 10x more than I ever smoked which is sad because I only started

doing it to quit smoking. I going to have to find the book, and I'm

sticking with this site.
