Any suggestions?

I am actually taking part in two novel writing months this year, basically kind of free writing for a month and hoping to hit 50,000 or more words that I can work with to get a decent novel running.
I have a slight problem, however. Because the projects aren't exactly free writing in that I have to take small breaks every once in a while in order to keep my brain from leaking out of my ears, I have always smoked more during these challenges.
I don't want to forgo NaNoWriMo or GothNoWriMo because I have already started my Gothic Lit piece (and am in love with it) and I have a great plan for my NaNoWriMo project this year.
Does anyone have any suggestions for me, what I can do to take a break without lighting up?
