Has anyone used an nicotine inhaler like Nicotrol?

My quit date that I've set for myself is quickly approaching. I currently use a Juul and smoke the occasional cigarette. I want to completely stop both and I don't think I will be able to do it cold turkey.

I was looking into using a nicotine inhaler (Nicotrol inhaler for example) as an aid to help me quit. I know that these typically require a prescription from a doctor and I was curious if anyone had used them to help them effectively quit smoking?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I never used the inhaler, I was a Smart Turkey quitter myself, but I just want you to see something from my perspective.  You began smoking JUUL to quit cigarettes.  And now you're doing both (smoking occasionally albeit).  And now you're looking for another aid to help you.  There's nothing wrong with aids.  But if you start going from aid to aid and they're still not working, then you need to rethink the entire process.  Aids are aids.  They will not eliminate all cravings.  If you think they will, then you need to do more reading on here.  YOU have to do the work.  You have to be self disciplined.  There's nothing else for it.  You have to sit down and be the parent of your addicted child within.  Not easy.  We want to comfort our child.  But cuddling by relapse is really bad for that child.  It stunts it's growth and prevents it from becoming the empowered adult.

If you use an aid, follow it's instructions.  Otherwise you've gained nothing but another addiction.  (MOO - my opinion only)

The 1st successful attempt I had at quit smoking was for 9-1/2 years starting in March 2006. At that time I was smoking 2+ packs a day. I had been in a house fire in 2003 that placed me in the hospital for 2 weeks from severe smoke inhalation and the continued smoking would send me into coughing spells that would sometimes result in me passing completely out. I eventually ended up in the emergency room where the doc told me “You can quit smoking at home or quit up in ICU, but you have to quit if your going to live because your lungs are trashed.” I went home and came up with my own idiotic plan for quitting. I began using Nicorette gum, some brand of nicotine patches and doctor prescribed Nicotrol inhalers. I had been a smoker for about 30 years and was desperate.  I was a bit younger and tougher then and definitely wouldn’t recommend this method to ANYONE! After a couple of weeks I quit the nicotine patches because they left rashes where placed on my skin and caused occasional nausea when combined with the other products. Not long after I quit the Nicorette gum since it made my mouth and teeth sore and also gave me hiccups. I continued with the Nicotrol inhalers for about 18 months. But surprisingly I survived my initial attack on the smoking issue without having a heart attack or some other health complications. Back in 2006/2007 vaping had not started and I was somewhat embarrassed about going around with this white stick hanging out of my mouth but was also extremely proud that I was not lighting a cigarette. Gradually I picked up that white stick less and less and eventually put it down for good. Again I would not recommend my initial method to anyone but I do contribute a lot of my ability to quit to the Nicotrol inhalers. Wish I could have just quit cold turkey but at that time I was scared and failure was not a option. Went back to smoking/vaping occasionally around 2016 following my lungs healing for close to 10 years. How stupid of me. Now I’m back to near 2 packs a day with similar or worse health issues. Time for a new plan.

Welcome to the Ex.  Many successful quitters here have used and aid, but you still have to do the work.  I used Welbutrin, nicotrol inhalers (do need a prescription), smoking cessation and the Ex.  I used the inhaler "as needed".  I never used it to the maximum amount. I had no problems stopping it.  I'm almost at 1 1/2 years smoke free after smoking for 50 years.  And definitely use the Ex for support.  It has really made all the difference for me.
