Time to take control

Hello everybody: I'm new here and will quit smoking. Been at it for a very long time and now at the age of 63, its time to take control.  I do exercise quite a bit, but I know I'm still missing out on "the good life".  Is there an easy to follow Step by Step guide?

Thanks for your advice.

Hi and Welcome to Ex’s guitarman1956 ...you have come to a great site to quit smoking.  Please go to My EX Plan | BecomeAnEX and there you will learn about quitting and make a quit date...you will learn to make your quit unique to you.  I found preparation, knowledge and hard work are the keys.  Also, knowing that smoking doesn’t change anything, we only thought they did because we smoked through life...it is learning to do healthy things in place of smoking...you can do this...read the blogs and stay here for support...and also, encouraging others on this journey will help you too...we are all in this together...now here’s a good list to start reading..../blogs/Maggie_quit_8-1-2010-blog/2012/03/19/100-things-to-do-instead-of-smoking?sr=search&searchId=3...  Get working...ask us for help...~ Colleen 267 DOF

Welcome to the EX community.  To answer your question, no there is no easy way to quit smoking.  I would say there are easier ways to quit. Quitting may be one of the hardest things that one could do in a lifetime.  However, it is doable.  I believe that educating oneself and having a plan can make all the difference in the world along with attitude one could make the journey easier.  I would say start at the beginning @My EX Plan | BecomeAnEX  and reveiw the videos and exercises to better understand when and why you smoke and how you are going to go about your quit.   It has been recommended to read Allen's Carr Easy Way to Quit Smoking. It is a quick easy read.  It has made a difference for some. It helped me.  That can be found on the web in pdf fomat.  Due to copyrights, we can not provide the link l You can do this if you make up your mind that you can.  Relearning your thinking that you do not have to smoke is a good beginning. For a while, you will think about smoking but that does not mean you have to act on it.  You can talk yourself out of smoking just like you talk yourself into it.  No matter what make a commitment never ever take another puff.  NOPE.  Take smoking off the table and do something different. 101 Things to Do Instead of Smoke SINAO smoking is not an option.  That is NOPE concept Not one puff ever. Be have to be willing to do the work. It is not by will power but be willing to do this.   Quitting is the easy part.  Staying quit takes work. You have to be willing to do the work. My personal advice is to https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/groups/newbie-quitters/blog/2019/08/14/keep-it-simple?sr=search&s...‌Welcome to Ex you have come to the right place for support. /blogs/jonescarp.aka.dale.Jan_2007-blog/2011/06/26/what-to-expect-in-the-first-four-months

Thanks for your reply Jackie:  However, I didn't ask for an Easy way to quit. I asked:  Is there an easy to follow Step by Step guide?
