Give and get support around quitting

How difficult is it to truly quit if you have been doing it for just over a year?

I’m young and began using a juul and now use all different nicotine devices(not tobacco). I started a bit over a year ago and I made the decision today that I wanted to quit and am being serious about it for once. How difficult is it to truly quit and what can i expect?

Hello,

I switched to the Juul after smoking Marlboros for 20 years. Quit the Juul about a year ago but had a relapse when I bought some pods about 1 month ago. What has helped me was chewing the nicotine gum to break the hand-to-mouth habit, distracting myself by reading at this site and others, finding other activities i like that dont involve vaping, then cutting down the gum after a while. I currently am using only 6 pieces of nicotine gum a day, hope to be 0 soon! Hope this helps.

Not as hard as you fear, if you really are intent on quitting. Not only is Ex going to be here for you 365, but your community may offer resources to help you--meetings, program at your hospital. You might want to talk to your Doc if he or she is knowleagable about smoking/quitting. The resources online are plenty. Your state probably has a quit site as well and (like Ex) you can sign up to receive daily texts or email--positive messages.

Smobering up is a good thing--for mind body and soul--you can do this.

Here are a suggestions for info:

To quit, you commit to doing other things rather than follow an urge or crave. One day at a time.

If you recover fast and you may, keep learning why you don't ever want to go back.
