Give and get support around quitting
This is our new spot as the other got way too long. That is kind of a good thing though....people finding a spot to get the support they need and share with the rest of us how they are working on building that love.
So, let's keep the ball rolling and join in this.
Love you.....Love myself!
I tried in discussion didn't work. I guess I thought the URL is the link, at top of page? No?
Yes, if you're pulling from the internet. Try right clicking your mouse, when it's hovered over the video, and selecting "copy video URL." Then paste that into the box. See if that works.
I need to remind myself to "put the whip down" often. Learning to slow down, relax, breathe deeply, and simplify my life is an ongoing project with wonderful rewards.
Yes jep!! One thing that has really helped me is that I see myself holding others to the same standards and it isn't fair or healthy. Not that you do that, but I have discovered I do and I can be judgemental about it. No good and it doesn't help anyone!!
Lauralives Not sure about you but if I held others to the same standards as I hold myself to...I don't think anyone would ever talk to me again. That's a really good point!
Yes Lauralives, that whip was also felt by others. You're right, it helps no one.
I'm learning that every day. Day by day. I should not hold others up to MY standards. But I do think we need to hold OURSELVES up to a higher standard. And I call that standard the "best of you." We must hold ourselves up to that best of us. And that "best of us" is a voice that never shuts up, just like the addicted voice never does. When we listen to that former voice more than the other - we move closer to the freedom we so desire. And when we listen to that "best of us" voice, we rejoice rather than regret.
This sounds like me soooo much!! I want to change my way of thinking because I overthink a lot as well as think negatively and one reason is because I have been through alot in my life and have had a lot of things happen and sometimes it's hard for me to think positively. Thank you.
Anewme2019 Many people on this site have been through unthinkable losses, many of us suffer the results from smoking for years. After we quit, we have to learn to FEEL things instead of masking them with nicotine. We begin to grow when we accept that smoking never did anything FOR us, only TO us. Stay close to the site, read, comment, pay attention to what works for others, your answers are here.
