Have you already quit? Chances are if you are like most of us you have been a smoker for most of your adult life. Because of this almost everything is going to be a trigger or an “Insert cigarette here” moment. Quitting is all about attitude, shear determination and stubbornness. If you truly want to quit then you will. Life and all it’s messiness is going to happen whether you smoke or not. Has life been better for us with cigarettes to back us up? If you can honestly say yes, then don’t quit.

We give them so much power over us. They are not magic wands. You will discover, if you are tough enough to ride out this journey that they were actually exasperating situations adding to our stress. You are going to experience all kinds of crazy. Just ride it out. Everything you experience is normal and survivable.

Do your homework. Read, google and reach out to us. This is so do-able. This site is filled with long time smokers who have successfully quit. We are here for you!!!!

Congratulations on making the decision to quit smokingGetting through triggers takes planning and preparation before they happen. Learn what they are and how to get through them.by going to My EX Plan | BecomeAnEX  and  watch the videos, Track when and why you smoke.  I was advised to read Allen Carr's Easyway to Quit Smoking which can be found on pdf on the web.  Another good site to get info which was very helpful to me is  www.whyquit.com.  There are several articles to read.  Nicotine 101 and Freedom From Nicotine My Journey Home.  To get help on navigating the site go to. Community Help‌.  Make quitting smoking your number one priority. Start by getting rid of anything associated with smoking such as ashtrays, lighter, etc.  You can do this if you make up your mind that you can.  Relearning your thinking that you do not have to smoke is a good beginning. For a while, you will think about smoking but that does not mean you have to act on it.  You can talk yourself out of smoking.  No matter what never ever take another puff.  NOPE.  Take smoking off the table as an option and do something different. 101 Things to Do Instead of Smoke SINAO smoking is not an option.  That is NOPE concept Not one puff ever. Be willing to do the work.  Quitting is the easy part.  Staying quit is work.  Learning to protect your quit will keep on your journey forever freedom. One day at a time.  Never give up, never give in.
