Energy on Chantix??

I started Chantix a few days ago. I'm on day 4, about to up my dosage to 1mg per day. I feel as if I have super concentration powers for the first couple hours after I take it and I have a lot of energy! It seems to be putting me in a better mood. I haven't had any of the bad side effects as of yet, and I'm hoping (optimistic) that I won't. Has anyone experienced this while taking it? All I have read is people feeling extra tired, not perky like I'm experiencing!

Thank you so much! 2 1/2 days under my belt (last cig was thurs after lunch). I am so unbelievably proud and am already seeing improvements in my body. I appreciate your advice and comment. I will definitely be sticking close to learn from everyone here. My husband is a non smoker and while he is super supportive, he can’t relate to me.

That’s AWESOME!! Congrats!! Tonight at 7:30 will be my official week since my quit date. I’m much happier. Cravings have been very small, if any. Nothing I can’t acknowledge and then brush off. I have been using the Smokefree App and it’s very motivating. It shows health improvements, money saved, etc. I highly suggest using it and checking it frequently. The half a pill is working wonders. It’s not effecting my progress at all! But make sure you listen to your body and your quit. What works for me may not work for you. I say try it out and then go to bed. For me 1.5 mg is just fine per day.  how are you holding up so far?? (Oh, and I resorted to prune juice.. ick.. but that’s also helping lmao)

Congrats to you on your week!! I’m now over 3 days! Thanks for the advice, I’m going to check into that app. I’m doing better then I thought I would to be honest. I had a couple of times that I had to get up and walk to get my mind off of it. I am happy that spring is soon, so we can enjoy the outdoors! I am glad you are doing well!

I started Chantix on the 5th day of my quit. I just felt I was way too loud and snappy with people around me and not wanting to USE nicotene I decided on the Chantix option.  I am now on day 56 and have not used, however, I do have the strange dreams that wake me up every night.  I don't think they are dreams "created" by Chantix but rather are my normal weird stuff being much more visualized.  No extra energy experienced but I can perhaps focus on things a bit better but not even close to where I want to be.  Hoping for improvement and plan on dropping the Chantix at some point in time.

hope111‌ It would be helpful for your recovery from this addiction for you to participate in the community and learn ways to stay free once you stop the chantix.  This is a journey and it is one step at a time, sometimes, it is one FEELING at a time.  It will be much easier for you to stick to your quit with support and you will find lots of it here.   Congratulations on 56 days of freedom.  You are now in a place called No Man's Land and I suggest you read this blog by JonesCarpeDiem‌ https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/groups/best-of-ex/blog/2011/05/24/no-mans-land-days-30-to130-appr...   Glad you are here and that you are reaching out to help others.

Thanks for your help and encouragement Ellen. I searched for a place like ex before I stopped nicotine but couldn’t find you guys. Better late than never I guess . I look forward to participating and thank you for the blog - that Dale knows what he is talking about for sure!

Hi I too am on chantix.  I would say that it does have a mellowing effect on my mood. The first 3 days of my quit I was up beat and determined. That lasted until this weekend . I am on day 9 of my quit . So another newbie here. I do feel tired when I am off work and on my days off.  But honestly that just might be because  I work two jobs and I am just tired . I also noticed I am calmer since I have been on Chantix and quit smoking.  So far anyway.

It may just be me but I thought I could do this quit without Chantix and I was wrong.  I too would like to be off Chantix as soon as possible even though its been recommended that I stay on for it 6 months.  ugh  However since I smoked for such a long long time ..its going to take a long time to learn to be a non smoker or so I have been told.  I am no expert at any of this .  It just makes sense and I am impatient and just want to be through the process . I can't wait for more days to be between me and the last time I took a puff.  So over it...smoking and the addiction

I left out the part where my first time on chantix I decided to wean myself after 6-7 weeks thinking I would have more energy and be able to maintain cutting down on smoking .  I was wrong .  I started sliding back up and had "more energy" but in reality had more nicotine and caffeine.
