Give and get support around quitting

Why am I afraid to give up two cigarettes?

My quit date is March 23rd.  In the beginning of March my non-smoking sister suggested that I pick a time each day that I would absolutely not smoke for example driving my car.   I chose all day all night that I would not smoke.  Since March 9th I have two cigarettes in the morning and then I don’t smoke all day all night. In the 10 days that I’ve been doing this I had one slip up and smoked a ciggarette in the evening. I am using the patch. I put it on after the two cigarettes in the morning.  I am really freaking out over the thought of giving up those two cigarettes in the morning.  I am more fearful of giving those two cigarettes up then I am not smoking all day all night how crazy is that? Any suggestions?

You are probably already in the car and finding some treasures!!  AND smelling other people's smoke thank goodness.  Can't save them all.  Wish we could.  Pray tell how your day went!!!!!!!!!

I am having a difficult time today.  I do not understand.  I have not been smoking all day and all night since March 9th. Of course I was having those two cigarettes in the morning but I thought today would be like the other days and it is not.  I am not going to smoke today but today is harder than the other days.

You're smoke free today, correct?   Those two cigarettes you were smoking stilled kept nicotine in your system.   The physical withdrawal takes a few days.  The psychological aspect is long term.  It will get easier.  Stay the course.

Yes I am smoke free today. My last cigarette was yesterday about 6:30am. It has been 30 plus hours since my last cigarette.  I have not eaten anything today.  Maybe my I just really hungry and my brain/addiction is tricking me into thinking I am having a serious craving.  The craving is not passing like it has been doing.  UGH.  I am not going to smoke, not one puff.

I grabbed the first thing I could find in the frig.  I ate a bunch of celery with gobs of peanut butter to hold me over til I can cook something.  Thank you for checking in with me.  I got this.  No smoking today, not one puff.

I am so sad you had a hard day Sek4110‌ but I guess everybody's quit is different.  Darn.  I just knew you were buzzing around finding treasures without a care in the world.  Rats.  Perhaps you will have your astronomical high tomorrow having conquered day one.  30 hours is huge tho.  Congratulations!!

In between movies tonight perhaps you could take the time to read a little about the addiction of nicotine.   You will be glad you did.  Understanding the addiction will ease your quit.

Thank you for helping me through this. I brought the hard day on myself by not eating any food.  Once I ate and relaxed I was much better.  Not great but better.  So here I am and it has been a little over 48 hours.  I think today will be better.  I am going to do a little house cleaning and then off to the gym.  So I learned a lesson yesterday.  Do not go all day without eating.  I will make sure that I do not allow myself to get too hungry; my brain interpreted hungry as a cigarette craving,
