How do I reference a site or blog page to another ?

Jump to solution

Hi And Happy Wednesday Ex’s

I am trying to learn, but not always computer savvy...how do I refer a blog or site when helping another?  For example, this morning I wanted to give the 100 things to do instead of smoke but I copied and it wouldn’t paste...I went to getting started and read, but got confused.  Any and all help appreciated...

Gotcha  all in my thoughts Colleen

Good question, Colleen! Start typing the title after@ and remember to keep the underscore between words and after a few letters it will pop-up in a drop- down you can click on. Same for referring to people when you want them to see what you wrote about them. It will be forwarded to their e-mail.

I tried it with 100 things and a drop down didn't come up.  It needs to be exact wording, and it's actually https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/groups/best-of-ex/blog/2008/05/03/things-to-do-instead-of-smoking...‌.  If you don't remember the exact wording, you can go to the magnifying glass in the top right corner and type in the search box.  A drop down will come up with options that include those words and you should be able to find it there.  Then right click on the title and copy the link location in your response and right click again to paste the link.

Just to add on to what YoungAtHeart‌ and Thomas3.20.2010‌ helped with. This might also help you find things easier.

For titles(blogs, discussions, questions, Polls, events, documents, videos, etc.) or places(groups or spaces) it will help narrow if you put an underscore (_) between the words.  so "@100+" or "@100+_things_to_Do_instead_of_smoking" should come up with https://excommunity.becomeanex.org/groups/best-of-ex/blog/2008/05/03/things-to-do-instead-of-smoking...‌ @100+_things_to_Do_instead_of_smoking "@mention_basic" will come with The Basics: How To Use The @mention‌ even though I don't have the words in the right order. It will search the title as long as I have the correct words.

Happy mentioning!
