It was not snarky response and I'm not stressed either. I'm an advocate of all members on this site and am in the middle on the topic.
People feel strongly on both sides of this feature so it's not something to joke about in my opinion as the people who like points should be able to do so without teasing or judgement. Similarly the people who don't care for them should also be able do so without judgement. This topic is for reporting when the feature is not working properly. My post was a reminder that I would like it to stay on topic. Comments about points can be made elsewhere( i.e. /blogs/Mark-blog/2018/06/25/the-scoop-on-jive-rewards-badges-points-and-quests?sr=search&searchId=1a...).

I'm glad that Giulia's list made you feel proud. Things like that really matter 
. The points are counted and that feature is all automated. Furthermore, the points aren't something we can easily turn off while still allowing other functions to stay online without significant cost, we're a free site at the end of the day. /blogs/Mark-blog/2018/06/25/the-scoop-on-jive-rewards-badges-points-and-quests?sr=search&searchId=59.... I'm glad that you returned, regardless of reason. That is what I really really love to see!
I've spent a lot of time reading things on the site, old and new to get a sense of the community. While I may not have read everything the features have changed but we've always had a diverse group of people. The community has always had an amazing ability to adapt to the features and functions that were available and even innovated when things were very challenging. It's really impressive. Back when the site launched point systems exists but gamification was in it's infancy and was usually a separate thing.
At the end of the day, the gamification helps motivate some members of the site to participate and quit while for others it likely has no impact. On the bright side, the point system can be fairly easily ignored, (in comparison to other community platforms) if you're not interested.
Back to your regularly scheduled programming...

I returned, not for points, but for my desire to be there for those who truly want to quit smoking. Guess you had to be there, Mark, a long time ago, and a smoker needing mucho help with their quit, to appreciate where those who do not care about points are coming from.
