Welcome Jennifer.  As everyone above me has said - education is your key to success.  Examine and then go through the quit plan information on this site.

Take a read of this, it might help:  /blogs/Giulia-blog/2018/03/01/quitting-is-a-skill-that-can-be-learned?sr=search&searchId=4ecd0b60-ae...‌  Glad you've joined us.  Charge on!

Hello..

Be proud of yourself on your decision to quit! Take it one day at a time..I'm quitting tomorrow and reading all of the information offered on this site is really helpful. Have a plan that starts the night before so that you're prepared for every new day. Be patient with yourself..be kind to you. Drinking water with lemon is refreshing ..drinking hot water with lemon is good for everything and helps you to relax at night..I just joined myself so let me know how you're doing...

Francis58‌ Did you read the comment by YoungAtHeart‌?  It is a great welcome to the site.  The more you read, the better, the better prepared you are, the more smoothly your quit will go.  Please know that this really is one day at a time and sometimes, it is one experience at a time.  When we smoked, we stuffed our feelings and when we quit...those feelings come out and we have not learned how to deal with them because we STUFFED them.  Be prepared and know that you can learn how to deal with feelings, you can learn that getting angry is acceptable and so is feeling sad or feeling intensely happy, we can finish a chore and not need to "reward" ourselves with a cigarette.  Feeling is normal and feelings won't kill us...smoking is NOT normal and will kill us.  No crave ever killed anyone or lasted forever...even though it may seem that way at the beginning.

Welcome to EX, happy you are here.

Thank you Ellen...I will mark your words of wisdom regarding those on stuffing our feelings..that's what I do most of the time. I work in the Insurance Industry and the people I work with are all business all the time. There isn't any kind of emotion expressed or much laughter of any kind. People just work and there's no real feelings expressed about anything. Needless to say I'm looking for a healthier work environment. I get really mad at my boss but never say a word. I go home and find relief through smoking but no more..I want to find healthier ways to work out the stress like going to the gym etc. Thank you for your support..I appreciate it.
